Summary: Saselia will get to know Bashir one way or another.

“Do you have a favorite kind of flower, Bashir?”

“A favorite flower?” He didn’t know about that. “Is that something common to have?”

Ofika giggled, hiding her smile behind her hand. “It’s common enough,” Simcha added his own thoughts in, “If you’re a girl.”

“Uncle Simcha!” Saselia protested. He wasn’t making Bashir any more likely to answer with that kind of talk.

“I prefer orchids,” Fado supplied, countering Simcha’s stance on the issue.

“Whether it’s girlish or not doesn’t bother me…” Bashir mumbled, “I just don’t know…”

“You never thought about it, right?” Ofika suggested.

“I never thought about it.”

Ornaments

Title: Ornaments
Challenge/Prompt: 71 - Silver
Original Fiction or Fanfiction: Original
Characters/Pairings: Ilekano & Sola
Rating: G
Warnings: None
Disclaimer: Belongs to me.
Summary: Sola had not forgotten her late husband.

"Silver looks better on you than gold." Ilekano allowed the long train of the silk and silver headdress to slip through his fingers as he stepped away from Sola. She was beautiful. She was his.

"You only say that because I used to wear gold...in Camwyn's court." Sola twirled a strand of flat silver leaves around her finger. The metal tinkled like soft bells as the ornaments struck one another.

“But I never saw you in the court, you know. I never saw you wearing gold.” By the time they had met there was no court. Shirikh was in ruins.

Unravel

Title: Unravel
Challenge/Prompt: #70 - Thread
Original Fiction or Fanfiction: Original Fiction
Characters/Pairings: Saselia & Bashir
Rating: G
Warnings: None
Disclaimer: This one's mine!
Summary: Saselia can't keep her hands to herself.
Author's Notes: Thank you for inviting me to join the community!

"If you follow a loose thread to its point of origin, you're probably going to find a snag."

Anyway, that was how Saselia remembered her mother saying it, and Mom usually gave good advice.

Right now it was a thread hanging from Bashir's sleeve. It was long, swinging around with his every motion. She kept reaching out to try and grab it, but having neglected to mention her goal to Bashir, it escaped her grasp.

Finally, fingers met thread. Saselia tugged. Bashir’s sleeve only unraveled further, opening a visible hole.

Maybe the snag she was meant to find wasn’t literal.
