A Dark Day
Title: A Dark Day
Challenge/Prompt: #6 Spirit
Original Fiction or Fanfiction: Original Fiction
Characters/Pairings: Makeda
Rating: G
Warnings: Angst
Disclaimer: This was written by me, Wufei_W.
Summary: Just another day of the end of the world as they knew it.
Author's Notes: Just a little introspection of a character from a story I’m working on.
Endless rows of men and women stand before them in perfect formation awaiting their next missions that could send most of them into early graves. They said it was a worthy cause; the honorable thing to do, the only thing they could do now in these times of darkness and the threat of extinction looming ahead.
She looked over to her commanding officer that stood beside her, uncaringly looking over the younger soldiers in front of the two.
What was once the vibrant spirit of her friend was now twisted into something dark and horribly unrecognizable.
She mourned that day.

The funny thing is, is that this is from the perspective of a very minor character from an original story of mine. She plays a very important role despite the fact that she's only mentioned a few times in a past tense sort of way, but a big part none the less. ;D The story itself is pretty much half and half in angst and humor; two things I do well.
But, if I ever decide to do a prequel to my current story she would be the main character; though it would be a very sad and dark story, no real happy ending there, think 'Revenge of the Sith' angst fest. XD

And the potential prequel idea sounds just about up my alley...
