Summary: A glimpse of the beginning of my protagonist's life
Author's Notes: I suppose the genre is gothic fantasy
"I wish I could grant you a good life, my son." Theresa caressed the fuzz that she knew would be golden brown as he grew older. She saw his eyes, the gold-brown color he would keep for his life. "I haven't the power to give that to you. I promise you will break the curse this life. For your destiny is written large in the skein of life this time." She kissed his forehead. "For once, I do not begrudge the Lion that claims you, for you will need His strength and ferocity." She closed her eyes, holding him close.
