Title: Hanging
Challenge/Prompt: Blue
Original Fiction
Characters: Nayeli, Phoenix
Rating: PG-13 for lots of reasons.
Warnings: Execution, hanged by the neck until dead.
Author's notes: I really, really don't know what made me come up with this, and within my personal collection of stuff it'll prolly get expanded on slightly. In any case, I put it behind an LJ-cut because some people may not really want to read it. Crit welcome.
Nayeli paces the perimetre of her cell. Ten steps, turn. She trails fingers along the stonework of the walls, and wishes for a window. She misses the sky, misses the blue enough that it hurts. Endless pacing, then Phoenix enters, with a guard. Nayeli hopes this is it, that she'll get to see the sky one last time.
Gael quickly pulls Nayeli's arms behind her back. Once she is restrained, Phoenix carefully ties a blindfold over Nayeli's eyes.
Phoenix nods; Gael pushes Nayeli out the door.
Countless steps. A platform. Nayeli murmurs a prayer, praying simply to see the sky.
