Title: Destiny
Challenge/Prompt: #6, spirit
Original Fiction
Rating: G
Summary: A wicked game of cat and mouse.
Author's Notes: part of what will be a larger work
He had spirit, this one; more than the others that had tried his patience over the centuries, and he was enjoying the challenge immensely. It was a cat and mouse game of age old proportions. The amusing part of it was that his prey had no idea he was prey. In his young, enthusiastic mind, he was the hunter.
The grand master allowed himself to be tracked as he led the young man toward his destiny. It was a destiny that had been mapped out forever and nothing the young man -or his protector- did could alter its true course.
Title: Distracted
Challenge/Prompt: #7, waiting
Original Fiction
Rating: G
Summary: Fondness would be his undoing.
Author's Notes: part of what will be a larger work
This was the third time in less than a week that he had been kept waiting. His patience was hanging by a mere thread and if there hadn't been so much at stake he'd have been done with this long ago. But no, the young man had managed to worm his way into his heart, eliciting a protectiveness that he had not felt in years. His heart had been strangely warmed by the young man's innocence and fervor. It was that same innocence that would prove to be his downfall.
He had fallen under his spell, let down his guard.
a/n: these were great exercises for a writing challenge I am working on. It will be fanfiction, but these drabbles can stand on their own so I didn't pigeon-hole them into a genre.
