Title: A Modicum of Hope
Prompt: #19 Kiss
Free Verse Poetry
Rating: PG
Warnings: None
Summary: Sometimes happens much too often.
Author's Notes: I send you my heart alongside these words.

Sometimes, life isn't wonderful and the world just isn't all that beautiful.

Sometimes, people who say that they love you can hurt you the most.

Sometimes, a spoonful of sugar can’t help the medicine go down and an apology won’t fix shit.

Sometimes, the thick, syrupy, emotions, like burning hatred, heartache and sadness, don't make you stronger.

Sometimes, the vaccine leaves you more vulnerable instead of completely immune.

But sometimes, when a gentle breeze is kissing your face or a whispering tide moves to wash away the crippling hurt you’ll just know that things will work out in the end.

Title: Misconceptions
Challenge/Prompt: #8
Original Fiction: yes
Rating: PG
Warnings: Implied Character Death
Disclaimer: it's mine ... 8D
Summary: Jonathan wished ...
Author's Notes: First post to the community~!

Hands tied tightly behind his back, rough rope chaffing against the sensitive skin on the insides of his wrists, Johnathan wished he'd been born in a different age - one where knowing which herbs could cure the common cold or replenish the blood after a foolhardy bleeding by incompetent doctors wouldn't have caused this.

As the pyre under his legs was lit with a crackling, joyfully destructive, flame Jonathan especially wished for the strength to spit in the faces of his persecutors for causing his mother's heart such grief.

Her cries echoed painfully in his ears even as the fire consumed him.
