Title: Washed Away
Challenge/Prompt: Prompt #16: “Rain”
Original Fiction or FanFiction: Original
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: Inexplicit child abuse/rape
Disclaimer: Not my prompt, not my experience, just my words.
It was pouring the night her joyful innocence was torn from her.
The men had broken into her mother’s house to steal what they could and, at age ten, there wasn’t much she could have done to stop them when they barged into her room, turned their eyes from her silver bracelet to her pre-pubescent body, and then dragged her out into the cold, unforgiving dark.
Now every touch from her husband's loving hands makes her shudder and remember those four men, masked and laughing as she screamed to the sky, her tears indiscernible against cheeks already wet with rain.
