This week's prompt is... #2: Yesterday.

Or perhaps yesterday left you with an odd feeling you just can't describe. What does "yesterday" mean to you and your characters? Whether literal or figurative, let us look into your unique window of the past...

Author's Notes: I just had something in my head.

I think I underestimated her want to live. Looking at her once beautiful face reminds me of an even sadder time, the time that she began to cut her hair for preparation of what was yet to come. She smiled at me, but that same smile betrayed her. She claimed that she was ready, but no one really is. We just fool ourselves into thinking that we are. Now today that smile is gone, but the same spirit is intact. But I know the truth. I know the sad, painful truth and it doesn’t help at all.
