A silent scream. Startled he sits up. Blinking his eyes. For a moment wondering where he is. Slowly he starts to recognize the bedroom.

Cold sweat running down his back. And the feeling of being scared and abandoned and  lost doesn’t leave him.

His mind tries to grasp the dream. Tries to catch it before it leaves completely. Tries to hold it.

Nathan was in it. He is sure of it. And smoke. Lots of smoke. Pulling the boy away from him. Away. Away…

When he gets downstairs, Nathan’s bed is empty. The poem he wrote down, gone as well.

For everything, there is a price to pay.

He has known it to be true. But still he hopes. He always hopes. And when this boy appeared. This wild spirit. This Nathan Field. With his tumblings and wonderful acting talent. He thinks that maybe, maybe this time, everything will be all right.

But then he disappears again. To his school, yes, but he never came back. Even though he promised he would.

However Will never forgot Nathan. He wrote his best works afterwards. But he had lost ‘his Puck’.

And he knows. There is always a price to pay. Always.
