Summary: Even dragons sleep sometimes.
Author's Notes: Not that this tends to help; they always wake up.
He took the news well. But that was also part of the role of the divine emperor; betray no shock, no fear, and only just wrath.
So being informed by a messenger that the enemy clearly hadn't expected to survive the delivery of his message that the Hierai had been taken captive while he slept was not, in fact, greeted with any overt sign of fear or anger.
He did, however, give the messenger his undivided attention, which was its own sign of crisis. "You have taken the Exile...and believe you can hold him?"
"Long enough," the messenger agreed carefully.
