Title: Yes
Challenge/Prompt: #128 Ignorance
A flock of sparrows out his nostril: days spent breathing that salt air, those girls playing basketball and laughing, summer nights in the grass, windshield scattered across pavement, marriage, more and countless more. The last exits and he, bewildered and face clutched, can't remember how to ask why. The last exits and she, ruffled and aflutter, chirps urgently to his silence. "Your first lover's sigh against your ear," she says, now perched on his shoulder. He looks down at his hands and smiles, content at last. Tree limbs black under a dusk orange sky: they sleep, unfettered and happily lost.
