Author's Notes: Van is totally my favourite character for the entire series probably, beating out even His Bitchiness, Siegfried. And I totally need to write more of the ‘verse anyway, because I just found my book-load of notes from way back. That nostalgic feeling ♥

He knows it’s not normal. Not usual to have this fierce rush of adrenaline, of pride.
There’s a body in front of him, a fresh kill, and all he wants to do is tip his head back and laugh.
It’s a perfect day. The summer breeze is most refreshing even as the sun is at its zenith. Birds chirping away in the trees above…
He sighs in pure contentment. He’s thirteen years old already and he’s plastered from ankle to thigh in another human being’s blood. Third kill of the month, sixth man down overall.
Not normal at all.
