Summary: It would probably help to know that Pathwalkers is a story involving something like a dozen different sides all at war with each other.
Author's Notes: Celestina's mine. Benetram's a friends. The world is mine, referred to as "Pathwalkers".

The morning light shone on rank upon rank of polished breastplates, white and silver, red and gold. Lances bearing a dozen regimental banners snapped and fluttered in the breeze.

General Celestina rode between the first and second ranks, keeping the flat of her blade across the neck of her captive. She rode for the banner of the fallen tower, shouting "Take me to Sir Benetram!"

Two pikemen broke rank to guide her, one keeping his hand on the reins of her horse. The other asked, "What shall I tell him?"

"Tell him one of the worms has chosen to turn."
