Summary: Sometimes too much happens in too short time to be able to cope.
Life's a Bitch
It hadn't been that bad the first night out. Maybe it was the shock of Tom Barnaby's sudden retirement, maybe it was the comfort of having Gail with them.
But Gail suddenly had been transferred, including a well-deserved promotion.
His hopes for his own promotion once Tom retired had been shattered. Instead he had a new boss he didn't quite understand. Everything had happened so fast and he had had no say in it. He felt overwhelmed, was struggling to get to grips with the new DCI's way and the loss of the people he trusted.
Sometimes life's a bitch.
