Title: Open
Challenge/Prompt: #42. "Open"
Original Fiction or Fanfiction [Name of fandom]: Fanfiction ~ Tracy Beaker
Characters/Pairings: Gen ~ Crash & Rio Wellard
Rating: U
Warnings: N/A
Disclaimer: I do not own the show. Nor do I make any money / intend any copyright infringement by writing about its characters.
Summary: Rio wants what Crash has. Set after S05:EP13 "Spare Dad".
“He’s really nice, your dad,” Rio reiterates later, waiting nervously for Crash’s reaction. Crash fails to do more than murmur noncommittally, so Rio presses further. “I wish he was my dad.”
“No,” Crash snorts, all bitter amusement, “you don’t.”
“I do,” Rio protests and Crash finally opens his eyes, shifting to sit back against the headboard with enough room for Rio to squirm in beside him. “I really do,” Rio assures and Crash lets it slide, patting awkwardly at his shoulder.
It’s not how his dad would do it, Rio thinks, nor Chantal, but, for once, it doesn’t really matter.
