The Iyashu and his retinue were settled comfortably around the parapet, watching the soldiers and the guardsmen train in the courtyard below.
"So, what did he do to be cursed?" asked one of the Kiyachi guardsmen, leaning to his fellow.
"Apparently he fell in love," said his friend, with a shrug.
The guardsman frowned. "Since when is that a crime?"
One of he Iyashu's retinue, listening, turned to face them. "It is not, for you. For us, it is madness. He was cursed for his madness."
The two guardsmen stared, uncomprehending.
"He slaughtered whole families, he's mad," the Orunai clarified.
