Title: Hello Again
Challenge/Prompt: #176 - Trinity
Original Fiction or Fanfiction: Original
Rating: PG
Warnings: none
Disclaimer: It’s all mine.
Summary: “We’re not friends, Terry. You chose that.”

“You’re dead!”

She smiles. “I was. It didn’t take.”

They stand in a triangle, a mockery of an official meeting. Caelum’s eyes dance, his composure otherwise perfect. Terra grimaces like she’s smashed his kneecaps a foot before the finish line.

He mistakes Caelum’s quiet flexibility for weakness. But did your thugs ever touch toe inside Aeropolis? Aloud, she warns, “The Dei mean for Three to lead―not one. I know that. But They―and we―don’t need you.”

Terra awkwardly extends his hand. Mare snorts a laugh. “We’re not friends, Terry. You chose that.”

“What do you want…?”

She slides away. “Nothing, yet.”

Title: Looking Back
Challenge/Prompt: #177: Success
Original Fiction or Fanfiction: Original (Vian)
Characters/Pairings: Rún/Leodhais
Rating: G
Warnings: None
Summary: Rún's life has, as the saying goes, been Interesting.
Author's Notes: Rún is mine; Vian is Doseki's.

Life was one of those things that couldn't be predicted, Rún mused, setting the Consort's Seal on a document.

If someone had told him when he was five that he'd live more than a hundred years, he would have laughed.

If they'd told him when he was thirty that he'd live to see a peacefully united planet, he'd have dismissed it as a pleasant but impossible dream.

And if they'd told him when he was seventy that he'd marry the boss's son and be happy about it, he'd have taken it as a threat.

Success could sneak up on you.

Title: The power of three
Challenge/Prompt: #176: Trinity
Original Fiction or Fanfiction: Original (Ghost Garden)
Characters/Pairings: Cyth/Seth/Rina
Rating: G
Warnings: er. Nontraditional relationships?
Summary: Cyth musing on his Triad
Author's Notes: I'm going to beg pardon and duck the Zelda fans on this one...oh and the icon is on the old side...

It wasn't a traditional relationship. Nothing traditional about it, really. Under anything like normal circumstances, they would never have met, never mind bonded so closely.

Cyth had a cynical view of 'traditional'. His understanding of the word meant "something we do in this way because it's always been that way and we can't be arsed to think about it."

Power, courage, wisdom. In some cultures the traits themselves merited worship, and he could accept that. Which of them held which trait was open to debate, of course. In Seth's arms, he found all three, and the same in Rina's kiss.

Title: Triad Countdown
Challenge/Prompt: #176 Trinity
Original Fiction or Fanfiction [Name of fandom]: Original
Characters/Pairings: (if applies) "he/him" (a.k.a. he isn't named)
Rating:* anyone :)
Warnings: he is very distressed
Disclaimer: This is all that came to me after a while of trying to figure out what to do with "trinity"
Summary: a young man is being harassed and threatened
Author's Notes: Wasn't so sure what to do with "Trinity", so I just came up with this exactly 100 words long. I didn't think it was very good though, i just wanted to participate :(

He frantically searched through the shelf, sweat pouring from his face. Distress was evident in his twitchy actions. His time was running short, and he didn’t know how to stop it. As the seconds past, his heart rate would speed up until he could feel himself becoming light-headed. What got him to be so scared?

He received an anonymous ring a month ago, threatening and harassing him, telling him of “three signs” he will get describing his “doom”. Two had past, as letters with the numbers “3” and “2” on them. But where was the last?

Then...he grabbed one…

Title: Opposing Wills
Challenge/Prompt: #174: Restless
Original Fiction or Fanfiction: Original (Andeliin)
Characters/Pairings: Kickback, and the Other
Rating: G
Warnings: none
Summary: Sometimes multiple minds aren't designed for sniper missions.
Author's Notes: Andeliin is mine mine mine.

The Other prowled, annoyed and restless, through his mind and body as if he were a hollow thing, its pen or den or cage. It made holding the rifle steady a bit more of an adventure than it should have been.

Sit DOWN, he tried thinking at it, keeping his finger well away from the trigger. He couldn't blow his cover.

The Other didn't care about human politics, however. It was cold, and bored, and wanted to remedy both, right now. It snarled at him, backing the snarl with angry will.

Kickback took a deep mental breath. SIT, he demanded.

Title: Goodnight
Challenge/Prompt: #169 - Melancholy
Original Fiction or Fanfiction: Original
Characters/Pairings: Quinlan
Rating: G
Warnings: none
Disclaimer: Quinlan is miiiiiine.
Summary: A wizard that walks across universes, watching one.
Author's Notes: He's not always this sad though.

He sat on the dry earth, lotus style, head tilted back to behold the star-filled sky. Between his hands, resting lightly on his knees, a sphere took form. Within the sphere, a universe of stars, twinkling gently.

He watched the creeping darkness dim the little stars, rot creeping in from the edges toward the center. Centuries, millenia passed within the sphere in moments, and the mage watched the shadowed rot extend its tendrils toward the brightest heart. He threw soft tendrils of light at the sphere, without effect.

"I'm sorry," he whispered to the dying worlds, and banished the sphere.

Summary:   You betrayed him
Author's Notes:  bad romance, eschatology edition

~

"What was it like?" the finch asks, perched between hollow ribs. "Tell me please tell me."

"Like a sun, asunder," she says, wings wrapped in dust, arm stretched skywards. Dark sky, no stars. Her eyes dim. "That terrible, engulfing light. All those ashes."

"You betrayed him," the finch chirps, skipping bones. "Broke your covenant."

"We were his children, first," the angel says. "He betrayed us too."

Oh, little bird, she doesn't say, if only you remembered the reach of your wings, the light you promised. Oh, little bird, you were always the brightest of us.

Remember, little bird, please remember.
